Newsletter subscriptions

If you ask to receive notes, your email address and consent information are processed by Resend to manage the subscription and send confirmation and newsletter emails. A confirmation is required before newsletter delivery. You can withdraw your consent using the unsubscribe or preference links.

Consent evidence includes the time of your request and confirmation, the signup source and the version of the consent wording. Confirmation credentials are stored as hashes and expire after 24 hours. Your email address is not put in the public CMS or sent to analytics.

Optional analytics

With your permission, Google Analytics measures page views, article engagement, clicks to LinkedIn and newsletter actions. Analytics does not receive your email address or confirmation token. It is not loaded before you allow it. Use Analytics preferences in the footer to change your choice.

Why information is processed

Newsletter delivery and optional analytics rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time. Necessary hosting, security and abuse prevention support the legitimate interests of operating a reliable website.

Service providers and retention

Vercel hosts the website, Sanity stores published editorial content and Resend manages newsletter contacts. Google provides optional analytics. Providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable data-transfer arrangements. Operational services may process connection information needed to serve requests and prevent abuse.

Subscription information is retained while it is needed to manage your subscription. A minimal suppression record may be retained to respect an unsubscribe request. You can ask for deletion or access using the contact address above.

Your rights

You can request access, correction or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw newsletter or analytics consent. Depending on the circumstances, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object or receive a copy of information. You may raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
